Why We Celebrate Holi?
There was a demon named Hiranyakashyap. He considered himself to be the most powerful and powerful in the world. Because of this, they did not like the gods at all. He hated Lord Vishnu of the gods and did not like to hear his name, but his son was a great devotee of Lord Vishnu. Which did not like him at all. He would prevent his son from doing devotion to Lord Vishnu, intimidate him, but his son would be absorbed in his devotion.
Troubled by this, he made a plan to have his son die. To fulfill this plan, he enlisted the help of his sister, who had the boon that the fire could not be lit by him. She conquered fire. He told his sister to take Prahlad in his lap and sit in the fire. Due to which the fire will not spoil the Holika and Prahlad will die of water. Therefore Holika sat with Prahlad in the fire. But Prahlada remained engrossed in devotion to his lord.
Suddenly Holika started burning, then there was a voice in the air that if Holika would take the wrong advantage of her boon then she herself would be burnt to ashes and so happened. Prahlada was saved by his true devotion and fire could not spoil him.
In this way, people celebrated with joy and happiness on that day and this day is still celebrated today as Holika Dahan and the next day, people celebrate this day by applying color to each other. So this is the story of Holi that why we should celebrate this festival.
