- Keep the sun to your back. If you have to wait for a certain time of day until the sun is in just the right spot, then do so.
- Try taking scenic pictures of the neighborhood. Knowing a home is close to something special may be just the thing that leads a prospect to inquire further. Another interesting vantage point might be a view from a window into the back yard or onto the streetscape.
- Turn on all the lights for interior shots. This is especially important to consider if you are using a digital camera with a weaker flash. One trick is to buy a couple of those cheap clamp-on flood lights. Bouncing their light off the ceiling in darker rooms can make a big difference.
- Avoid shooting directly at a window or glass door. You’ll wind up with ‘glaring’ results. If there’s no way around shooting into windows or glass doors, get ready to rely on internal lights and your flash.
- Take more pictures if you're using a digital camera. The beauty of digital is that there’s no additional cost to take lots of shots. Make sure your working at a low resolution however. You can burn up a lot of memory in a very short time.
- Finally, have lots of spare batteries handy. Most digital cameras still have a high energy burn rate.
