This chaturdashi fast often comes 10 or 11 days after Ganesh chaturdashi. On this day, people immerse the idol of Ganesh in a reservoir from the nearby houses. Ganesha’s journey is taken out and immersed with dance and singing. It is believed that along with fasting on this day, if a person recites Sri Vishnu Sahasranama stotram then all his wishes are fulfilled. This fast is observed by wishing for wealth and children, etc. This fast is prevalent in many states of India. Anant chaturdashi is the last day when the people of dip or put the lord Ganesha in water on this day people gather and have a large procession on the road, dancing singing and saying like: GANPATI BAPPA MORAYA, AGLE BARAS TU JALDI AA.
