DIWALI PREPARATION
Diwali generally falls according to the Gregorian calendar in mid of october to november of the month. Before a month of diwali, people get used to the cleanliness in their houses, shops and offices. This is the festival of lamps .The shopping has started before diwali, people buy new clothes, jewellery, crackers and the most important diya or deepak to blow, candles are also blown on that day.
This is a five day celebration festival. But the importance, joy and happiness come before the diwali to the people approx nearly 1 month ago. This festival began from dussehra. Dussehra is celebrated before 10 days of diwali. After that day of dussehra people are preparing for the occasion of diwali.

Diwali is a festival which connects two or more people in a single thread of happiness, joy, prosperity and many more. People get to clean their house , put the different types of colors on the walls. Washed away all the old utensils and things which are necessary. HOW TO CELEBRATE DIWALI

Diwali is a day celebrated every year. It is a two day festival celebrated among the world. Before diwali , diwali is a festival of lights. It is also called deepavali, or the occasion of lights or happiness. Many people celebrate this day as with the symbol of happiness, joy and prosperity.
Before two days of diwali that is a day called dhanteras. It is also called dhanatrayodashi. It marks the first day of diwali . It is the thirteen day of lunar paksh in the hindu calendar.

On this day people buy something new and get it to your houses. On dhanteras people often buy copper utensils and brass utensils. This is believed that buying something new on dhanteras is considered auspicious. On this day the goddess of prosperity, laxmi ganesh ji and the goddess of dhantavari is worshipped on this day.

All members of the family get together on this day, worship and pray for the wealth , prosperous for all of them. This day is considered with the logic in hindu mythology that during samudra manthan goddess laxmi came out from the ocean of the milk during the churning of the sea.
Before a day of diwali people are celebrated as the choti diwali or naraka chaturdashi. It is the second day of the five day long festival diwali. It is believed that on this day Narakasura is killed by the lord krishna, satyabhama, and kali. This day is auspicious early in the morning. On this day 14 diyas is lit to celebrate this day.
DIWALI RITUALS
Diwali is the biggest festival for Hindus, after the day by day choti diwali is celebrated as diwali. On this day people are very excited . From the beginning of the day to ending of the day people are very busy. Ladies make many varieties of food especially pakwan, sweets, and oily deep fried things will be used on that day.

Children are fired crackers. At the time of evening, all family members get together in a place and keep all the worship items in a single plate,as pujapa and start to worship of goddess laxmi, ganesh ji, and goddess saraswati with the symbol of prosperity, money will be keep in the puja thali and start to sung of aarti.
People worship the goddess laxmi on this day in various places like offices, home, locar, and also wallets and almira locar for the wealth blessing of devi laxmi and the prosperous. On this day kuber is also worshipped. People exchange the gold , money in a locker again and do not open till next diwali, properties papers are also kept in the thali of puja. People get lit to the diyas in the evening and also candles will be blown.
Then finally the aarti has ended. The puja will be stopped and now all family member, relatives will sweeten each other . the childrens get fired at the crackers at the terrace and any open place with safety.

On the other day of diwali that is day called govardhan puja or vishwakarma puja celebrated in various forms of diwali. On this day early morning kuber ji and laxmi ji is worshipped on this day. Childrens wake up early in the morning and get fired with crackers. This day is celebrated with pomp and excitement all over the country and relatives, friends, family went to each other’s home and gave blessings to each other and wishes.
This day is symbolised as the prosperity, love, concern,joy, and happiness all around us.
The fifth day of the long lasting festival is bhai dooj, bhai tika/tilak and bhai beej. This day is also observed with rakhi. On this day many people of India tie a thread to their brother’s wrist. It is a day to symbolise the love, peace, joy, prosperity, happiness among the country. On this day brothers visit their sisters and the sisters prepare the delicious food , sweets especially with the honour of their brother long life, happy, , wealth and happy life of their brothers and wish for their great success.
