Everyone knows the struggle of Indian national activists,who fight for the freedom of our nation. The freedom fighters gaved many sacrifices for the Independence of India, and finally in the year 1947, India become an independent country.

Some of the freedom fighters sacrificed their lives and some their jobs and careers to make India a free country. When we think about Independence one name that comes to our mind is Mohan Das Karam Chand Gandhi,The Father Of Our Nation. Many freedom fighters helped Gandhi for the freedom of the nation.
Independence was declared on 26th of January in the year 1930. But till 1930 was not completely independent, but the Constitution of India was established and came into existence on and from 26th of January 1950. Therefore 26th of August is called as Republic Day of India.

CELEBRATIONS OF THE INDEPENDENCE DAY IN INDIA
In India 15th August is observed as Independence Day,and this Day is a National holiday. As this is an annual celebration, there has many different events all over the country.
The Main events of Independence Day in India are celebrated in the National Capital of India, Delhi. The first event in Delhi is “The Address To The Nation” by the Honourable President Of India. After that Our Honourable Prime Minister, Hoists The National Flag, TRICOLOR,in front of the Ramparts Of The Red Fort. Then the Twenty one gun shots are fired in honor of this Occasion.
After all this the Prime Minister gives a speech, in his speech he pays tribute to the leaders and freedom fighters and our soldiers for their contribution. He highlights the past years achievement and issues and the acts and wishes for more development in the country.
Then the Indian National Anthem,”JANA-GANA-MAN”, is sung by all the guests.

A parade is performed by the soldiers of the Indian Air Force. Different states represent their tradition and culture by Tableau.
All these events are telecast on the television live,and people who could not attend the function can see the celebration sitting in their homes.
Apart from the Delhi Celebration,the states also observe some events of Independence Day.
In schools the students Hoists the flag with the teachers and parents. The students perform parade and other cultural activities in their school.
