This festival is celebrated in India and Nepal by the women of Mithilanchal and their of all casts. This festival mainly performed on Ashwin Krishna Ashtmi usually during the time of pardosh. On this day mothers do Nirjala fast for 33 hours. As this is celebrated for three days, on the first day women wake up early in the morning, and take bath and have some food, and then whole days and next day women don’t eat any food or drink water as it is also called Khur Jitiya. And on the last day, they end up with Paaran, which is the first food of the day. And on this day the dishes are made such as Jhor Bhaat, Noni ka saag, and Madua ki roti are made.
