Vasant Panchami is one of the important festivals celebrated in India. It indicates the beginning of spring season. This festival of spring season is celebrated with full joy and charm throughout the Hindu people. The word Basant Panchami is made out by two words in that Basant or Vasant means spring season and Panchami means the fifth day. Thus, it is celebrated on the fifth day of spring season. According to Hindi Calendar, Basant Panchami falls on the fifth day of Magh month (January-February). The festival of Basant Panchami directed to goddess Saraswati and therefore this festival is also called as “Saraswati Pooja.” The goddess Saraswati is considered as the goddess of wisdom and knowledge. This auspicious day is also remarked as the birthday of goddess Saraswati. Basant Panchami is the festival full of spiritual and seasonal importance, and it is celebrated by Hindus in all over the world with eagerness, happiness, and with energetic way. From this day, a new and unique energy can be seen in the environment because this is the end of winter season and arrival of spring. In this season, weather becomes, so sweet and cheerful and tree plants start flowering. Even all the animals, birds and human being are filled with this new energy. Basant Panchami marks the colorful season of spring in which there are colorful flowers of Champa, rose, and sunflowers.
