According to Hindi Calendar, Basant Panchami falls on the fifth day of Magh month (January-February). The festival of Basant Panchami directed to goddess Saraswati and therefore this festival is also called as “Saraswati Pooja.” The goddess Saraswati is considered as the goddess of wisdom and knowledge. This auspicious day is also remarked as the birthday of goddess Saraswati.
